Inspired by a Dog Named Buddy

The BuddyRest story began with my best friend — my dog, Buddy.

During a routine vet visit, I was told that large dogs like Buddy often live shorter lives than smaller dogs, mostly due to painful joint problems and arthritis. The vet explained he saw this all the time — dogs of every age struggling with stiff joints, swollen limbs, and limited mobility.

Despite all the treatments available — pain meds, laser therapy, even stem cell procedures — many of those dogs still went home and slept on the hard tile floor.

At the time, I was working in the mattress industry. I knew how powerful proper support could be for the human body. That’s when it hit me — if the right mattress can change a person’s life, why not a dog’s?

The Search for Real Comfort

I set out to find a dog bed that actually worked — one that would provide the kind of pressure relief and support I knew Buddy needed.

But what I found instead were thin, flimsy “orthopedic” beds filled with cheap foam that flattened in weeks. Nothing on the market came close to real orthopedic support.

So, I decided to build one myself.

Using my experience in the mattress industry, I designed a bed that would combine comfort and support, giving dogs the same restorative benefits that people get from premium mattresses.

Where Science Meets Love

With the help of my best friend Jordan, and advice from leading veterinarians, we created the world’s first truly orthopedic dog bed — designed using pressure-mapping technology to deliver real, measurable support.

We sourced the highest-quality materials available: durable, easy-to-clean, odor-resistant fabrics, and advanced foams calibrated for canine anatomy. The result was a bed that didn’t just look good — it changed lives.
